08 Jul CyberCoast Company leaders tour Donald McMahon III Center for Cybersecurity
Representatives from CYBERCOAST cybersecurity companies recently had the opportunity to tour the Donald McMahon III Center for Cybersecurity at Pensacola State College. The Center for Cybersecurity was named for McMahon, a Pensacola businessman and philanthropist, in appreciation and recognition of his $250,000 donation to PSC to support students enrolled in the cybersecurity program or closely related fields of study.
The tour was exciting for the company leaders. For Jim Rogers, CEO of Argo Cybersystems, the visit was a return to his roots, “I actually got off a plane here in the navy in 1992 came back in 1999 and graduated one of the 1st graduates of the Cyber program,” he said, “From there went on to got to be a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree started a company here, so I guess I would be one of the success stories of this program.”
Bill Dunn of NOF Technologies said that the Center is a great asset to the CyberCoast, “If you’re looking to come to Pensacola, we’ve got world-class training right here in the area, so we’ve got a lot of industries and we’ve got a lot of training from our retirees that are coming out plus our active duty that are getting out of the military with cybersecurity backgrounds but more importantly, we have PSC, a state producing world-class cyber students.”
